Don't worry—we've got your back! Today, we're sharing a simple, free, and super useful trick how to shorten your Google Drive links. It’s easy to do, and your links will look neat, clean, and way more clickable!
What is Google Drive?
By now, almost everyone has heard of (or used) Google Drive. It’s an online storage service by Google that lets you keep your files—photos, videos, documents, presentations, etc.—in the cloud.
Think of it like a flash drive, but you don’t have to carry it around. As long as you have internet, you can access your files anytime from your phone, tablet, or computer.
What can you do with Google Drive?
- Store files: Upload from your device to the cloud
- Share files: Send links so friends or colleagues can access them
- Collaborate: Edit Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides together in real-time
- Sync files: With the Google Drive app on your computer or phone, your files stay updated automatically
A few downsides to keep in mind ❗
- Limited free storage: You get 15 GB for free, but it’s shared with Gmail and Google Photos. If you use a lot, it fills up fast and you’ll need to upgrade.
- File organization is basic: You can’t tag or group files as flexibly as with dedicated file management tools.
- Long sharing links: Google Drive links are super long, take up space, and don’t look very trustworthy when pasted into a post or message.
How to copy your Google Drive link 📌
- Go to Google Drive and choose the file you want to share
- Right-click the file → Click “Share”
- Set the sharing to “Anyone with the link can view”
- Click “Copy link”—done!
Now let’s shorten that link with URLkub! ✂️
- Go to URLkub and Paste your long Google Drive link into the website
- Click “Shorten”
- You’ll get a short link like
https://urlkub.co/xyz123

⚠️ Just a quick reminder before sharing:
- Make sure your file is set to public/viewable or others won’t be able to access it
- Avoid sharing sensitive or private info via public links—for your own safety and privacy!
